In what promises to be one of the biggest shows of the year, American rock Guns N’ Roses is coming back to Letiště Letňany (Letňany Airport) in Prague on June 19, 2020, on their Not In This Lifetime tour.

Tickets go on sale
to Live Nation Club members June 16 at 10 am and to the general
public June 19 at 10 am on the Ticketmaster and Ticketportal

Guns N’ Roses was last in Prague in 2017 at the same venue, on an earlier leg of the same tour. That show saw the band play 31 songs including their hits “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” and “Paradise City” as well as covers of “Live and Let Die,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” and “The Seeker.” All this was to a backdrop of an elaborate set with giant video screens, and lighting and pyrotechnical effects.

The lineup now
includes singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan
from the original 1985 lineup, plus keyboardist Dizzy Reed, who
joined in 1990, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer,
who joined in the 2000s, and newcomer Melissa Reese on synthesizers
and programming.

The band was in Prague in 2006 and 2010 on the Chinese Democracy World Tour, but without Slash and McKagan. Before 2017, the three founding members hadn’t been in Prague together since 1993’s Use Your Illusion tour.

Axl Rose was also in Prague fronting AC/DC in 2017. Slash has been in Prague multiple times with Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, as well as with Velvet Revolver.

Rumors that Slash
might rejoin Guns N’ Roses began in 2015 when he told a TV show
that a lot of the tensions between him and Axl Rose no longer
existed. Slash left the band in 1996, and Duff McKagan left in 1997.
At the same time Slash was floating the idea of a reunion, the band’s
guitarist DJ Ashba announced he was going to concentrate on his other
band Sixx A.M. with Nikki Sixx.

Bassist Duff McKagan began filling in with Guns N’ Roses at the end of the previous tour in 2014.

The band has not released a studio album since Chinese Democracy in 2008. Rose said when the original legs of the current tour was announced that the band would likely release new material again, but so far the only “new” material to be released was an archival single of “Shadow of Your Love,” recorded in 1986.

Worldwide the band
has sold more that 100 million albums. The band was inducted into the
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. The band has earned four MTV
Music Awards, four American Music Awards and two World Music Awards,
but oddly no Grammys.
