UPDATE: The operation of the "red metro" (line C) at Florenc station resumed on Tuesday shortly after 5:40 p.m.
Trains on Line C have been passing through Florenc metro station without stopping since early Sunday evening due to a water leak. The issue was caused by damage to a water supply connection during construction work, said Aneta Řehková, a spokeswoman for DPP.
As of 9 p.m., she said the station would likely remain closed until the end of metro service Sunday. Line B is not affected. In an update posted at 6 a.m. this morning, however, the DPP website indicates that the station is closed "until further notice."
The station closed to passengers on Line C at around 5:45 p.m. Sunday. "During earthworks above Florenc station, a water supply connection was damaged. The contractor is addressing the issue directly with Prague Waterworks and Sewerage and is working to resolve it," Řehková said.
A Prague Fire Department spokesman said water ingress onto the tracks was more extensive than initially thought, and DPP firefighters were also responding at the scene.
Currently, metro trains will only pass through the station; service on the B line is unaffected. Commuters are advised to use the nearest station (Hlavní nádraží) to enter/exit line C, which can be reached via tram lines 5 , 9 , 15 and 26.
The transport company began the reconstruction of the ceiling above the Florenc C metro station and the vestibule at the beginning of March 2022; the work was planned for completion in January 2025.
