Linda Nosková clinched the title with a 6–3, 7–6 victory over Elina Svitolina, building on Karolína Muchová’s opening 6–2, 6–3 win against Anhelina Kalinina.
The triumph gives Czechia its 12th title in the women’s team competition formerly known as the Fed Cup. Only the United States, with 18 titles, has won more.
Czechia completes perfect run
Muchová needed just 70 minutes to defeat Kalinina in the opening singles match.
The world No. 8 did not face a single break point, struck eight aces and broke her Ukrainian opponent’s serve four times.
“I felt much better than in the previous match,” Muchová told Czech Television. “My serve really supported me today, and I could rely on it.”
Nosková then sealed the championship by beating world No. 7 Svitolina in one hour and 33 minutes.
After losing serve and falling behind 1–3 in the opening set, Nosková won five consecutive games. Neither player offered a break point in the second set, which the Czech won 7–5 in a tie-break.
The deciding doubles match was not required.
Czechia completed the Shenzhen tournament without losing a match, recording identical 2:0 victories over Britain in the quarterfinals, Spain in the semifinals and Ukraine in the final.
First title under Strýcová
Captain Barbora Strýcová won the competition in her first year leading the national team.
She became only the fourth woman to win the tournament as both a player and captain, joining Margaret Court, Chris Evert and Billie Jean King.
The victory was a first in the competition for Nosková, Muchová, Marie Bouzková and Sára Bejlek. Doubles specialist Kateřina Siniaková was also part of Czechia’s previous championship team in 2018.
Czechoslovakia won five titles before the country’s division, while Czech teams have now added seven more, including a dominant run of six championships between 2011 and 2018.
Sunday’s victory was also Czechia’s first under the competition’s revised finals format, introduced during the 2020–21 season.
