Prague, March 1 (CTK) – Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO ) will propose to the National Security Council (BRS) on Monday that flights from Milan and Venice be banned due to the novel coronavirus, Babiš told Czech Television (CT) today.

Health Minister Adam Vojtěch (for ANO) has announced that the first three cases of infections by the novel coronavirus were reported in the Czech Republic today. All the three persons in question came to the Czech Republic from Italy recently.

Babiš called on all hotels, dormitories and Airbnb operators to check who lived in them.

One of the infected persons in the Czech Republic is an American woman who used Airbnb. “She herself went to the hospital, which we do not want,” Babiš said.

The system of taking of samples at home should be adopted, he added.

On Monday, he will discuss this with regional sanitary stations and emergency services.

It would be good if on Monday teachers asked children who of them had been on holiday in Italy. “It should also be said at the BRS meeting whether to ban some major public events,” Babiš said.

The forthcoming biathlon World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě, south Moravia, may be threatened. Up to 100,000 people may come to the race.

The disease has claimed almost 3,000 victims, mostly in China, since last December.
