The newly opened Click Coffee Caféin Prague 5, Smíchov, is like the self check-out lane for coffee lovers, though if you’re really (French) pressed for time, you can even order ahead for pick up via their app—your coffee will be waiting for you in a temperature-controlled lock box.
Promising little wait time and exactly zero attitude, ineptitude, or egregious name misspellings from baristas, this Czech start-up has seemingly managed to launch a quicker, more affordable approach to take-away café fare, one that Starbucks doesn’t plan to roll out until the end of the year, reports iDNES.cz.
That said, affordable coffee that is personally customized and prepared quickly is the company’s primary aim, founders David Veselý and Vladimír Zika recently told iDNES.cz, not competition with the big coffee chains. With more than 2,500 orders already placed in the past week and a half, the pair hope to open additional locations around Prague in the future.
A sampling of prices: A 0.2L black coffee is 30 CZK while a large (0.3L) latté is 45 CZK. Baked goods, salads, and soft drinks are also available as is café seating for those who have a little time to stop and smell the coffee.
