Black Friday – the day-after-Thanksgiving deep-discount date that has seen stampedes of shoppers in the states – hasn’t really been much of a thing in the Czech Republic, but local retailers have started to get in on the action in recent years.
Chief among those retailers is Alza.cz, the biggest electronics retailer in the Czech Republic. Alza has a large showroom in Prague 7, but specializes in online sales and offers same-day delivery for many products to dropboxes throughout the city.
Black Friday will officially take place on Friday, November 23 this year, when you can expect to find most deals from participating Czech retailers online and in store.
But Alza.cz is getting in on the action especially early this year, and from this Monday has already begun their 2018 Black Friday campaign, giving customers nearly two weeks of sales leading up to the official date.
What can you grab at a discount during Alza’s 2018 Black Friday sales? Through November 25, the site is promoting sales of up to 80% off of hundreds of products.
While Czech retailers have been criticized in the past for less-than-transparent sale prices (raising the list price of items to showcase a larger discount) a brief glance at what Alza is offering reveals some real deals.
And while Alza specializes in electronics and appliances, they now offer a wide range of products that includes toys and games, drugstore products, fragrances and watches, and much more.
A few of the deals we like:
Xbox One S 1TB Console with Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds for 5,490 CZK:
55″ Samsung 4K TV UE55NU8002 for 19,990 CZK:

Keep an eye on Alza over the next two weeks for additional deals and discounts.
