The Double
If you haven't stopped by Prague City Gallery's latest exhibition, now's the time. Opened in early November last year, it traces humanity's enduring fascination with the doppelganger, from ancient protective spirits to today's digital avatars, through the works of over a hundred artists including Andy Warhol, Jan Zrzavý, and Milena Dopitová. Exploring the psychological and philosophical depths of split personalities, mirror images, and alter egos across painting, sculpture, photography, and video, the show reveals how the double has evolved from Romantic-era omen of death to contemporary symbol of our fractured digital identities.
