The Czech art and dance scene has put together a stunning video filmed on the rooftops of Prague as a way of saying thanks to local health and rescue workers and all of those who have helped provide support during the current coronavirus pandemic.

The video was published yesterday by the Facebook page LideLidem, a new initiative comprised of Prague artists and dancers from a variety of different backgrounds and companies.

“The Czech dance and art scene came together to make an original and unrepeatable thank-you video from people, to people,” writes LideLidem.

“Thanks go to the IZS [Integrated Rescue System] and to all those who did not sit at home in difficult times and instead sewed face masks, printed face shields, or even completely changed their business and in the meantime managed to mix hundreds of liters of disinfection.”

“This has helped to quickly manage the situation and the fact that we, the artists, will soon be able to create freely again. Thank you.”

The video was filmed across a variety of Prague rooftops during a week-long shoot that include work atop Prague’s National Museum, InterContinental Hotel, Máj and Kotva department stores, Aureole restaurant atop a Pankrác skyscraper, and other locations.

Rooftop performers in the video include ballet dancers from Prague’s National Theater, acrobats from the Losers Cirque Company, StarDance competitors, and other members of the Czech dance scene.

Music for the video was put together by Czech DJ Michael Burian; prominent figures from the Czech performing arts world, including Jana Plodková, Ester Geislerová, and Ben Cristovao, also give their thanks at the end of the video.
