The Most-Visited Czech Destinations Revealed: How Many Have You Been To?

Castle or chateau? Family friendly? History focused? How would you like your summer travels in Czechia to look? A new list compiled by Czech Tourism gives vacation planners a wealth of inspiration.

Despite the increased security measures, which have meant longer wait times for visitors, Prague Castle remains the most visited tourist destination according to data compiled by the agency, which names the twenty most-popular spots in the country, determined by rate of traffic for 2016.

While Prague Castle may be a given, some surprises made the diverse list of locations—which includes plenty of destinations beyond Prague—from the industrial sights of Dolní Vítkovice, to the zoo in Zlín and Aqualand Moravia.

In second place, the funicular to Petřín (1.5 million visitors); the Prague Zoological Garden was the third most visited place with 1.4 million visitors, Lower Vítkovice with 1.3 million visitors is in fourth place, and rounding out the rear of the top five was AquaPalace Praha with one million visitors.
