THE TALE OF A T-SHIRT

WEAVING THE FIBRES OF INNOVATIVE INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION TO TELL THIS SATTIRICAL SOCIAL TALE.

Meeting at a FIXT POINT, this Toronto based International theatre company has joined forces with Austria´s KENNWORT:BERGSTATION to tell the story of a t-shirt on Fringe Festival stages in Prague.

In this highly charged comedic piece, the social, political and the fantastical collide as a t-shirt travels the world, making its way from cotton to cloth, starting as a seed in Texas, grown in India, made in China, and shipped all the way to Prince Rupert, BC, from where it heads to a retail store near you.  Based on a true story, this play will leave you wondering ‘where did you get that?´.

Following a highly successful 6-city-national Fringe Festival tour across Canada in 2007, KENNWORT:BERGSTATION and FIXT POINT THEATRE are once again ready to challenge and question our culture´s consumptive nature through with their humour and humanity in THE TALE OF A T-SHIRT.

Join Sophia Rosa Laggner ,Lisa Marie DiLiberto and Amber-Kelly Mackereth on this multi-media adventure, combining music, puppetry and outrageous characters to create something that is anything but boring…

JUST IMAGINE…

Fringe Picks
“Three talented physical comedians who specialize in clowning, puppetry, comic singing, and choreography deliver a unique experience that is difficult to describe to those who have not seen it.”
 – Jason Dubray

* * * *  WINNIPEG SUN
  ” ‘Oh Seagull, why must we be so different?´ Take that ridiculous question of a cardboard beach bird, switch gears to a lively acoustic number about a freight train seconds later, and that’s what T-Shirt is all about…  If only every T-shirt had these three to tell its tale.”
– Adam Wazny

***** WINNIPEG FREE PRESS
  “ …the actors of this show explode onto the stage and employ incredible energy, a good sense of timing and a great sense of humour to produce one of the best shows in the Fringe.”
– Roy Halstead
