A restaurant on Prague’s Štěpánská Street is celebrating after topping a new world ranking.

Indian Kitchen by R&R has been awarded the highest honor in the Hidden Gem category in Tripadvisor's Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Restaurants for 2025, spotlighting travelers’ favorite dining experiences worldwide.

The Hidden Gems list highlights under-the-radar restaurants that “offer authentic flavors and local charm.” The travel platform praised Indian Kitchen by R&R for its excellent value, generous portion sizes, and high-quality food at reasonable prices.

The awards are determined by the quantity and quality of traveler reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period, from Aug. 1, 2024, through July 31, 2025. According to Tripadvisor, “Out of 8 million listings, fewer than 1 percent achieve this milestone.”

In an Instagram post, the owners said: “From Prague to the world, this milestone is only possible because of YOU—our amazing guests, supporters & family. This milestone wouldn’t be possible without our incredible staff who give their best every single day to make every customer smile."

The Indian-owned restaurant is located just off Wenceslas Square and serves vindaloo, curries, and a wide range of vegetarian starters and entrees—an order of butter chicken costs CZK 345.

Indian Kitchen by R&R wasn’t the only Prague dining venue to receive recognition. Old Town’s Restaurace Mlýnec, with its majestic riverfront views, ranked 13th on the list of Europe’s best fine dining destinations.

“Restaurace Mlýnec is the perfect spot for an unforgettable meal. The menu leans into refined Czech and international dishes—try the set menu, and save room for dessert. Service is sharp without being pushy, and the live music on some nights gives the place a fun, relaxed vibe,” Tripadvisor writes.
