With the summer in full swing, it’s the perfect time to start looking at the many bars located along the city’s river. Regardless of style preferences or budget restrictions, you’re sure to find something to suit your needs. Here’s our quick overview of what’s on offer!

Right bank

Party Grill Garden
Rašínovo nábřeží, Prague 2
Beneath Palackého náměstí, a seating area located opposite the Party Grill Boat dock. Selling Dudak 11° and Klosterman polotmavy 13° beer, ginger beer, lemonade, shandy (55 CZK), and coffee (49 CZK). Gets busy with eager grillers waiting to board their boats. Shade provided to enjoy the nice Vltava views.

Bajkazyl
Náplavka, Rašínovo nábřeží, Prague 2.
A Small team of dedicated bike-lovers run this repair shop, bike rental point, and bar on the waterfront. Arrange to leave your bike to be repaired or do it yourself while enjoying a beer from the reasonably priced menu! Slightly lacking in shade from the sun on hot days.

Občerstvení (refreshment) Kiosk
A stone’s throw from the previous bar, relatively cheap food and drink with minimal seating. Czech classics like smažený sýr (40 CZK) and Langoš (40 CZK) plus a few hot daily specials.

Restaurant Vltava
Rašínovo nábřeží 2084, Prague 2
Family-friendly restaurant with window seating and full cover indoor seating suitable for any season. Gambrinus 10° (0.5l 29 CZK, 0.3l 18 CZK) Pilsner Urquell (0.5l 39 CZK, 0.3l 24 CZK), Frisco (40 CZK) & Cider (40 CZK) plus a selection of wines. Good long-distance views of Prague Castle.

Botel Matylda
Rašínovo nábřeží, Mánes
A nicely furnished restaurant/bar with stern terrace to seat up to 20 and riverbank terrace to accommodate up to 60 people. Well-stocked, nice views, good service.

Žofín island (or Slovanský ostrov by its official name), opposite the National Theatre, holds a few refreshment gems. Aside from the impressive Žofín garden restaurant you’ll find Kavárna Splav, a riverside wooden café with ample shaded seating selling Pilsner Urquell, soft drinks, and ice cream.

Nameless Bar with Live music

Riverside beer garden with live music & BBQ. Staropramen 12° (0.5l 48 CZK, 0.3l 38 CZK) and a selection of bottled beers starting at 48 CZK. Slightly high prices but a good location to hear pleasant English & Czech songs played live by the riverside. Open from 11:00-22:00 daily.

Lávka Bar & Club
Novotného Lávka 1
Peaceful bar by day, young tourist-trap disco by night. Very nice outdoor seating with views of the Charles Bridge. Good coverage from sun or rain. Lobkowicz Premium 12° beer (0.3l 36 CZK), unfiltered Chlumecký Vít (0.3l 36 CZK), Desperados (90 CZK), and a wide range of spirits, wines and champagnes. Open 08:00-04:00 daily.

Marina Grosseto Ristorante
Alšovo Nábřeží
The impressive floating pizzeria doubles as a great place to stop for refreshments. Terraced seating with shelter.  Wide selection of wines, aperitifs, Staropramen (0.3l 45 CZK). Friendly English-speaking staff.

Café Mánes
Found opposite the grand Rudolfinum building, a shady quite riverside terrace selling ice-cold beers, milkshakes, soft drinks, and sandwiches. Shady and sun-kissed, surprisingly quiet and relaxed considering its location. English breakfast served.

Across the river, there’s Kampa Group’s stylish & chic Hergetova Cihelna. Expect to pay slightly higher prices for the great views from the large riverside terraces. A wide selection of wines and spirits. This is a perfect location for corporate events or social gatherings.

Restaurant Čertovka
U Lužického semináře 24
Shimmy down the narrow alleyway for over-priced food & refreshments. Quiet, shaded outdoor seating area able to seat up to 70 people (approximately). Expect to pay 50 CZK for a soft drink and 75 CZK for a refreshing Pilsner! Credit cards not accepted.

Café Márnice
Na Kampě 507/8a
Nice location but chilly service, expensive drinks & refreshments. Problematic staff might make this location one to miss.

U Jezulátka
Na Kampě 10
Walking towards Kampa Park, you’ll find the beautifully restored U Jezulátka with garden terrace on the Vltava. Friendly English-speaking staff

Restarant Gotika
Na Kampě 14
Looking for Gothic refreshments? This is the place. Offering French, Californian, and Moravian wine, Budějovický Budvar 12° beer (60 CZK) and bottled Carlsberg (50 CZK), with sheltered outdoor seating for up to 70. Open 11:00-23:00 daily.

U Karlova Mostu (at the Charles Bridge)
Na Kampě 15
English speaking staff, many reports of bad service. Secluded garden terrace with weak river views.

Rybí Klub (Fish Club)
U Sovových mlýnů 1
Pleasant fish restuarant with nice wooden seating by the riverside. Drinks and snacks served under the shelter provided. Quiet location with great views. Staropramen 11° beer (0.3l 29 CZK), unfiltered Staropramen (0.5l 45 CZK).

Bela Vida Café
Malostranské nábřeží 3
Recently renovated with a lush interior and café-style outside seating overlooking the river, Bela Vida Café is a nice but pricey location for refreshments. Select from a wide range of teas, coffees, and hot chocolates, including Chili Chocolate (80 CZK). Pilsner Urquell (0.33l 85 CZK) or San Miguel (50 CZK). Pleasant, English-speaking, efficient staff.

Jazz Dock
Janáčkovo nábřeží 2
The trendy live venue remains open until 04:00 Monday-Saturday. Rooftop seating with nice views of the river. Serving a wide range of cocktails and wines by the glass or bottle. Pilsner Urquell 12° (43 CZK) and Kozel 11° (35 CZK). Check the website for live performances taking place in the stylish indoor bar area.

La Terrassa
Janáčkovo nábřeží – Dětský Ostrov
An oasis-like large terrace offering fresh tapas at reasonable prices. Tuck into delicious Catalan cuisine with views of the Dancing House and the national theater. Good selection of wines and beer. Well worth a visit.

Admiral Botel
Hořejší nábřeží
Located between Vyšehrad and Palacký Bridge, the Admiral Botel offers Pilsner Urquell 12° (45 CZK), bottled Coronas or Guinness (75 CZK) in a typical nautical setting. Hotel prices but unique river views.
