Prague Christmas markets ranked among the best 'of all time' in new list

Prague has been named among Europe’s best Christmas market destinations of all time by European Best Destinations (EBD). The recognition highlights the city’s Old Town Square market and other festive sites for their historic charm, traditional crafts, and immersive holiday atmosphere, placing Prague alongside renowned markets in Budapest, Vienna, and Zagreb.

EBD’s “All Stars Edition” celebrates markets recognized over decades for authenticity, local products, and support for regional artisans. For visitors, Prague’s inclusion confirms its status as a premier winter destination offering both cultural depth and seasonal magic.

Set against Prague’s Gothic and Baroque architecture, the city’s markets feature hand-blown glass ornaments, straw decorations, embroidered linens, and wooden toys.
