Pork roll filled with ham, eggs, and sausages by Eva

Why I like this recipe:

This is our mom´s recipe, which we have always had in the family. It is easy to prepare for anybody. It satisfies not only one´s taste but the final look also pleases one´s eye. It is suitable as a family dish, or you can surprise your visitors with an easy dinner.

Not very suitable for vegetarians 😉

Preparation time
20 – 30 minutes

Cooking time
40 minutes

Servers
4 – 5 people

Ingredients
500 gm of pork loin meat
6 eggs
4 sausages
150 – 200 gm of chicken or turkey ham
butter
oil
salt, pepper, caraway seeds, grilling spice
a string

Preparation method
·    Tenderize the meat into 0.5 cm flat sheet
·    Sprinkle with salt and pepper
·    Place overlapping slices of ham over the meat
·    Melt 50 gm of butter (or use any oil except olive oil)
·    Scramble 6 eggs in the butter and spread them in the middle of ham evenly
·    Place 2 sausages lengthways in the centre
·    Roll the meat widthwise
·    Tie with a string to keep the shape of a roll
·    Sprinkle with salt, pepper, grilling spice and caraway seeds
·    Place in a baking pan with a little oil and butter, cover with a lid
·    Bake on 250 for 30 minutes, then turn the roll around and bake for another 15 minutes until slightly golden
·    When baked, cut and remove the string
·    Slice

This dish is best served with boiled potatoes, salad, and accompanied with grated carrots stewed on butter and lemon.

Can be served cold with e.g. a slice of bread.

Bon appétit!
