Police seek suspect in air-gun shooting of Prague bus and trams

The suspect shot out seven windows of several public transport vehicles including a bus and two trams.

Police are seeking the person responsible for damaging a total of seven windows of public transport vehicles last week.

An unknown suspect damaged a total of seven side windows on two trams and one public transport bus, causing damage of about CZK 130,000.

The incident took place on Wednesday around 6:30 pm near ​​the Nádraží Zahradní Město tram stop on Švehlova Street in Prague 10 as the vehicles passed through the area.

According to initial findings, the damage was likely made by an air gun. No one was injured in the incident and the suspect is currently being sought on suspicion of property damage.

In a press release from the police, a spokesman said that while there were passengers in the seats at the time of the incident, no one was injured.

Anyone who has any information regarding the incident is encouraged to report it as 158.

Another recent incident saw a man deliberately smash a bus in Zbraslav with a Nordic walking stick on January 1. The police, who are still searching for the perpetrator, believe that the suspect smashed the bus after the driver failed to stop and pick him up.
