Few roles in Prague offer the chance to play a direct role in someone’s care in a moment of crisis. At International SOS, that’s the day-to-day reality. Their global team offers support worldwide, helping organizations and their employees arrange treatment abroad or respond to urgent medical situations. As the company expands in Czechia, new roles are emerging for English-speaking candidates who want to make an impact.
WORK WITH A GLOBAL TEAM
Founded in 1985 and active in 90 countries, International SOS delivers 24/7 medical and security assistance in more than 110 languages. From its Prague hub, the company supports healthcare programs that directly impact people globally.
A large share of roles in Prague sit within the TRICARE Overseas Program, a U.S. Department of Defense healthcare system. The program supports active-duty service members, their families, and other eligible beneficiaries living outside the United States. International SOS is focused on filling the following opportunities:
Customer Service Executives (Global First Call Desk)
This team is the first point of contact with beneficiaries. Customer Service Executives (CSEs) receive incoming calls and written requests from around the world, often in time-sensitive or high-pressure situations. You’ll need to be a calm, steady voice in critical moments, translating complex medical logistics into clear, empathetic support for a beneficiary on the other end of the line.
On a typical day, CSEs work across a soft phone system, healthcare provider databases, and internal CRM tools, assisted by intelligent tools that handle the heavy lifting of data, leaving you free to focus on the human side of the case. Tasks change based on real-time requests and can include coordinating urgent care access or supporting medical evacuations.
PRIME Operations Administrators
This role handles the administrative and decision-making side of healthcare delivery. Operations Administrators review and process treatment requests submitted by Military Treatment Facilities, confirming each case meets program requirements. The job is critical to making sure there are no roadblocks between a patient and their approved treatment.
Precision is everything here. You’ll be the person 'connecting the dots' and reviewing the policy to ensure every patient gets the specific care their plan allows for.
Team members work across secure communication portals, internal systems, and data tools, including AI-supported solutions that help analyze information and support decision-making. The position suits candidates who prefer focused, independent work and want to build deep expertise in healthcare operations.
How the Prague team operates
Work at International SOS combines global coordination with day-to-day teamwork in Czechia. Zuzana Pamula, head of global operations, supports assistance centers in Prague, London, Singapore, and San Antonio. She sees the office as a unique puzzle, working closely with multiple teams to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across regions and time zones.
My role sits at the intersection of operations, technology, and people, requiring constant coordination, adaptability, and a global mindset,” she explains.
Pamula appreciates the chance to “work in multicultural, dynamic environments, where switching between systems, priorities, and perspectives is part of everyday life.”
At the team level, that global structure shapes day-to-day operations. Jana Petruskova, a TOP operations manager in Prague within TRICARE, leads a team of over 30 members who handle a significant share of incoming global calls and emails.
She works closely with stakeholders to optimize processes and create a positive, inclusive work environment. “My focus is on meeting SLAs, ensuring high service quality, and supporting my team through effective staffing, training, and coaching,” she explains.
Her work also allows her to explore interests like emerging technologies, including Generative AI. But more centrally to the role, Petruskova knows it’s about the people behind the metrics.
I find great fulfillment in working in a multicultural, purpose-driven organization and am proud of the impact my team delivers," she emphasizes.
COMPANY CULTURE AND BENEFITS
Surrounded by cafes and close to public transport and shopping centers, the Prague office of International SOS is located in the buzzy Smíchov neighborhood of Anděl. Inside its modern offices is a true melting pot, with 230 employees from more than 40 nationalities.
More than half of employees are non-Czech speakers, and English is the company language, making it easier for expats to integrate and work across global teams.
Colleague cohesion is central to the company’s culture. Locally, the Respect and Care committee ensures that the 'International' in the company name is reflected in the office social life. They organize gatherings, activities, and events throughout the year, both in the office and beyond, helping teams build stronger connections and work more effectively together.
Employees receive 25 days of annual leave, five personal days, a meal allowance, pension contributions, a Multisport card, and an annual bonus. Hybrid work, a permanent contract, and strong learning and development programs offer long-term stability and career growth, whether in Prague or across global teams.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
Many roles are open to early-career professionals, as well as candidates who enjoy structured, detail-oriented work and want to build expertise in global healthcare operations.
The company is looking for candidates fluent in English who are comfortable with digital tools and bring accuracy, attention to detail, and a structured approach to administrative work. Applicants must be eligible to work in Czechia.
