After decades of decline, Europe’s night trains are finding a new audience, and Prague is one of the better places to board one.

Driven by sustainability concerns, renewed investment in rail, and travelers looking for alternatives to short-haul flights, overnight services are expanding again after decades of decline.

From Prague hlavní nádraží, travelers can reach destinations including Vienna, Budapest, Warsaw, Zürich, Brussels, and beyond, with sleeping cars and couchettes offering a slower way to travel.

But night trains can also be confusing: operators differ, comfort levels vary, routes change, and the cheapest ticket is not always the best value.
