Now is certainly the time to hunker down in a cozy Prague café with a latté (see our archive for tips on where to do so and what to indulge in).

The true lover of the Prague café will also want to put this item on his or her holiday wish list: The Year of Cafés in Prague 2017 calendar.

The calendar, which recently completed a successful crowd-funding campaign on HitHit.cz, features sketches of some of the Czech capital’s most beloved modern-design coffee shops rendered in black-and-white by illustrator Jan Nikrýn.

The project, says Nikrýn, is an ode to “the baristas, specialty drinks, distinct atmosphere, and peculiar clientele” that make each of the venues featured so unique. It also has “a map of Prague coffee culture that lets you tick where you’ve been.”

Included among the twelve months of the year are shabby-chic favorites such as Cukrárna Alchymista and Tricafe as well trendy spaces like Japanese sensation Momoichi Coffetearia and emporium of cool Eska.
