Prague and Vienna: Cities for Life will be displayed in the courtyard of the House at the Golden Ring near Old Town Square from Oct. 1 through 30.
The exhibition, jointly organized by Prague City Hall and the City of Vienna’s international office in Prague, will open with a public ceremony on Sept. 30 at 5:30 p.m.
Ten panels present Vienna’s urban solutions
Across 10 panels, the exhibition will show how Vienna plans new neighborhoods, develops cycling infrastructure and transforms concrete-covered spaces into greener public areas.
Other sections focus on inclusive city policies, the design of public spaces, accessible services, responsible digitalization and zero-emission energy.
One of the central topics is Vienna’s route toward climate neutrality and how technological development can be used to improve daily life for residents.
The exhibition is intended not only to present individual Vienna projects but also to highlight ideas shared between experts and institutions in the Austrian and Czech capitals.
Vienna’s Prague office marks 30 years
The opening will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the City of Vienna’s international office in Prague.
Operating since 1996, the office connects municipal authorities, experts and institutions in both cities. Its work focuses on sharing experience and examples of good practice in urban policy.
Prague and Vienna have regularly exchanged knowledge on issues including housing, transport, environmental protection and the management of public space.
The exhibition will be accessible free of charge during the regular opening hours of the House at the Golden Ring.
October’s display will also offer one of the final opportunities to visit the historic building before its planned renovation.
