Czech drivers are paying the highest prices for diesel in more than four years and the most for petrol in three and a half years. The spike, driven by the war between Israel, the United States, and Iran, has pushed global oil prices sharply higher since late February.

On April 8, the government’s emergency fuel price cap comes into effect. While the measure is designed to provide relief at the pump, analysts warn that the pain may not be over, and it isn’t only drivers who should be paying attention.
