Culinary Extravaganza at the Alcron

Roman Paulus, the Executive Chef of the Alcron Hotel, is introducing a new dining concept called a Culinary Extravaganza. For this events, Paulus invites several other acclaimed chefs from Prague´s culinary scene to join him in preparing a special gala evening.

The Culinary Extravaganza II. will be held on February 18, 2010 and there will be other acclaimed chefs cooking together with Roman Paulus a special menu: Jan Punčochář from Le terroir and Oldřich Sahajdák from La Degustation Bohéme Bourgeoise, all of them listed in the TOP 10 Best restaurants as per Maurer´s Grand Restaurant 2010.

The gala dinner is as always accompanied by select wines and each dish from a menu will be introduced  by each chef at the stage as a cooking show, which means that guests enjoy this special gala evening both by sampling everything on the menu and by watching its preparation.
The price is 1950 CZK per person.

History:
The first such a gala dinner took place in June 2009 and the guests of Roman Paulus were his predecessors, the former Executive Chefs of the Alcron hotel, Zdenek Pohlreich and Jiri Stift. As this event was very succesfull, Paulus decided to continue with such a concept and invited other chefs from the culinary scenes.

The Culinary Extravaganza I. took place on November 19 and the guest chefs for this evening´s dining extravaganza were: Jiri Kral from the Francouzska Restaurant in the Obecni Dum; David Sasek from the CODA Restaurant in the Aria Hotel and Milos Fojt from the Park Inn Hotel. Together with Chef Paulus, the visiting chefs prepared a sumptuous 5-course menu accompanied by select wines. Part of the gala evening was a cooking show describing each dish on the menu.
