Better at home? Why two-thirds of Czechia's workers don't want a return to the office

Despite over half admitting they're more productive in offices, many employees say they would 'immediately' switch jobs if remote work came to an end.

Working from home is no longer just a perk in Czechia: it has become essential for many workers. A new survey released Saturday by personnel company Předvýběr.cz shows that nearly four in 10 employees who currently work hybridly would immediately change jobs or be far less engaged in their current one if the option to work from home were removed.

The results show that, despite the post-pandemic new normal of white-collar employees working remotely, the employer-staff relationship has slowly become fractured owing to trust and collaboration issues. Employees' greater demands for (and expectations of) remote work have also changed companies' abilities to respond to the new paradigm.
