A couple of years ago, West London restaurant Honky Tonk introduced the world’s most expensive burger, a Kobe wagyu beef patty embellished with gold leaf, lobster, and caviar with a whopping £1,100 price tag. Coined the ‘Glamburger’ it was verified by Record Setter as the highest priced in the world.

If that kind of excess feels a bit unseemly or just finanically out of reach, a Prague restaurant has developed its own less pricey, though no less outrageous version.

The ‘Goldburger,’ (Zlatý burger), a towering foie-gras-topped creation garnished with 22-karat gold is now available at Tom’s Burger in Vinohrady.

Originally priced at 2,800 CZK, from now until June you can buy it on Slevomat for 1,679 CZK which feels like a bargain for 250g of beef of unknown origin, foie gras, cheddar cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, and a slice of 22-karat gold.

A mouthful of bacon, goose liver, and gold not enough to get you in the door? Tom’s will throw in a bottle of Bohemia Sekt (with gold) and cheesecake (with gold) all to be consumed in the paper-napkin surrounds of its location off Riegrovy Sady.

Possibly the weirdest Slevomat offer to date, though it faces stiff competition from this pile of schnitzel that is delivered to your table via model train.
