From a new running club to music in the metro and open air food and and fun, here’s where to go in Prague this week. for April 27–May 1.

Each week, our editors will be rounding up the best events for the English-speaking community: places to meet new people, test your knowledge, learn something, or just get out of the house.

This week's calendar runs from April 27 through May 1, with the launch of a new running club, Walpurgis Night bonfires, jazz on the Exhibition Grounds, Ukrainian folk at Archa+, Czech language meetups, pub quizzes, and a vegan festival on the riverbank.

We're also asking you to help build the calendar each week. Use this form to tell us about a great upcoming hang, talk, workshop, potluck, open mic, or class. And while we're based in Prague, we welcome tips from across the country.

LANGUAGE & LEARNING

  • April 27: Creative language-learning workshop Czech Craft Club combines crafting and informal Czech practice through making paper villages at Kafe a Hrnky.
  • April 28: Let's Talk in Czech is an online discussion club for intermediate Czech learners organized by the Integration Centre of Prague every other Tuesday from 7:15–9 p.m. Participation is free.
  • April 29: A panel discussion examining the United States at its 250th anniversary explores themes of national identity, history, and political legacy at Anglo-American University from 6:15–7:15 p.m.
  • April 30: CAMP's Archirun Club combines light jogging with architecture and urban commentary on a guided run across Prague’s new Dvorecký Bridge from 6–7 p.m.
  • April 30: An online webinar for foreigners in the Czech Republic explains maternity and parental benefits, eligibility rules, and the application process for family support schemes from 6–8 p.m.

Witches Night

  • April 30: The Witches of Lesser Town brings a traditional witch-burning celebration to Kampa Park, featuring a parade from Malostranské Square, children’s activities, live entertainment, bonfires, and a festive evening programme in the heart of Prague’s historic center.
  • April 30: Witch Festival at Ladronka Park celebrates Walpurgis Night with bonfires, children’s activities, theatre performances, themed contests, and international food stalls.
  • April 30: Břevnov Spring Fair combines a traditional witch-burning bonfire ceremony with a craft and food market, children’s activities, competitions, and live music in the grounds of Břevnov Monastery.
  • April 30: Walpurgis Night at Žluté lázně marks the opening of the season with family-friendly outdoor festivities, including children’s competitions, performances, a witch trail, fairground attractions, and an evening bonfire lighting.

FOR FOODIES

  • May 1: A craft beer festival showcasing around 80 beers from Czech and Moravian microbreweries takes place at Břevnov Monastery from 12–8 p.m. as Beer May Day returns for its 11th edition.
  • May 1: Veggie Náplavka transforms Rašínovo nábřeží into a large open-air vegan festival featuring plant-based food stalls, lifestyle products, live music, and family-friendly zones, with a focus on sustainable and zero-waste living.

COMMUNITY BUILDING & VOLUNTEERING

  • All week: Czechia's spring food drive continues online, allowing shoppers to donate food and hygiene essentials through participating e-shops in support of local food banks.
  • May 1: Loves of František Křížek, a community-focused May Day event featuring film screenings, workshops, and performances along František Křížek Street, takes place at Bio Oko in Prague 7.

ENTERTAINMENT

  • April 27: A concert featuring pianist Arsenii Moon and the Prague Philharmonia presents works by Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Ravel, and Shor at Smetana Hall in the Municipal House from 7 p.m.
  • April 28: Glorious Bodies is a contemporary circus and dance performance at Jatka78 exploring aging, physical limits, and resilience through the movement of six veteran acrobats.
  • April 29: The French choir Atout Chœur en Seine performs a joint concert with Canto Carso and the French Lycée student choir at Kino 35 from 6 p.m., featuring French and international pop, gospel, and popular music.
  • April 29: Tune in to the Metro brings live performances by young musicians to Prague Metro stations including Florenc, Můstek, Náměstí Republiky, and Vltavská throughout the day.
  • April 30: A large open-air concert marking International Jazz Day brings emerging Czech and international experimental jazz acts to Prague Exhibition Grounds from 3:30 p.m. as part of the Mladí ladí Jazz festival.
  • April 30: Kyiv-based quartet DakhaBrakha blends Ukrainian folk with contemporary “ethno chaos” at Archa+ from 8 p.m.
  • April 30: An arena concert by The Neighbourhood marks the band’s return to Prague after a five-year break at Sportovní hala Fortuna.
  • April 30: The three-day open-air music festival United Islands of Prague brings over a hundred emerging Czech and European acts to Štvanice Island and in clubs across the Czech capital.
  • May 1: A large student festival combining a city parade, the election of Majáles royalty, and an open-air concert, Prague Majáles takes over Letňany Airport for its 20th edition.


TRIVIA & GAME NIGHTS

  • April 28: The weekly pub quiz at Philly & Co’s Original Cheesesteaks presents general trivia covering topics from music to sport every Tuesday from 7 p.m.
  • April 28: A South Africa–themed trivia night tests knowledge of the Rainbow Nation and its culture at Saffa Maso Biltong Prague from 6 p.m., with teams of up to four players.
  • April 28: A 2000s-themed pub quiz revisits pop culture, music, and nostalgia from the decade of MSN, Sims, and Britney Spears at Globe Bookstore & Café.
  • April 29: The Under the Sauce Pub Quiz is back for its Spring 2026 season, featuring eight weeks of competitive trivia at Third Coast Pizza in Žižkov from 7 p.m.
  • April 29: Now in its 17th year, The Globe Quiz Night takes place at Globe Bookstore & Café every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m.
  • April 30: Beckett's Irish Pub hosts its weekly pub quiz every Thursday this spring, with a relaxed Irish-themed atmosphere from 7:30 p.m.
  • April 30: The Down Under hosts its weekly pub quiz every Thursday with a relaxed Aussie-themed atmosphere from 7 p.m.
