A new study reveals the top employers for young people in Czechia, alongside their key priorities—salary, stability, and career growth. The rankings highlight a strong preference for foreign firms, reflecting Czechia’s increasing global business appeal.

The study, in which students ranked their most favored employers in a questionnaire, found that young people named energy giant ČEZ as their top dream employer, while IKEA led in the trade and e-commerce category. T-Mobile ranked highest in telecommunications, L’Oréal topped the consumer industry, and McDonald’s was the top choice in hospitality.

Other major industry leaders also performed well: Škoda Auto (automotive), Česká Spořitelna (banking and investment), and Seznam (IT) ranked among the most desirable workplaces. The study also revealed industry-specific preferences—economics students favored KPMG Czech Republic, law students ranked Havel & Partners highest, and medical students preferred Motol University Hospital.

What do young people look for in a job?

The survey found that job security, professional development, and meaningful work are the most important factors for young job seekers. While financial compensation remains relevant—nearly 30 percent of students expect a starting salary between CZK 40,000 and CZK 50,000 per month—long-term career growth and a positive work environment often take priority.

Work-life balance and flexible hours were also major concerns. More than three-quarters of respondents want the option to work remotely at least part of the week. Many also seek roles where they can contribute to innovation and see the direct impact of their work.

“Companies that invest in young talent are now seeing the benefits,” said Daniel Novák, director of the TOP Employers work organization. “Focusing on the younger generation has been, and will continue to be, a smart strategy for employers.”
