Hundreds of undead Praguers lurched through the city center on May 24 for the sixth annual Zombie Walk. As they staggered from Náměstí Republiky to Václavské náměstí and on to an after-party at Rock Café, the zombies claimed new victims, biting passers-by and splashing them with fake blood. (In general, the victims were willing participants.) Fans of horror movies have organized Zombie Walks in cities around the world over the past decade, sometimes with as many as 1,500 groaning corpses. Organizers in Prague said the event had no significance beyond celebrating the zombie genre and creating a “reality hack” to shock observers out of their routines.
