Next Generation Google Translate Now Available for the Czech Language

Google will re-use neural networks to translate text into whole sentences for translation into and from Czech

The new generation of Google’s machine translation is now available for more accurate, fluent translation of the Czech language. 

The company launched its version of the Neural Machine Translation technique in November 2016, which, according to Barak Turovsky, Product Lead at Google Translate, was adjusted to be more like a human speaking with proper grammar:

“Since it’s easier to understand each sentence, translated paragraphs and articles are a lot smoother and easier to read. And this is all possible because of end-to-end learning system built on Neural Machine Translation, which basically means that the system learns over time to create better, more natural translations.”

A total of eight language pairs to and from English and French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Turkish were rolled out in 2016.

As of April 18-19 an update now includes Czech, Slovak, and twenty other languages in what is being called by Turovsky and Google, “The biggest leap in improvements in the history of our translator,” translating full sentences not just words and phrases.
