New Brewery Boat to Dock on Vltava this Fall

One of the beers brewed on board will be the strongest produced in the Czech Republic

Deeming Prague “a tourist paradise” that is still lacking the panache of Paris or Berlin, entrepreneur Vojtěch Ryvola aims to bring life to the waterfront opposite Letná with his as yet unnamed boat brewery, reports iHned.

The brewery and restaurant will anchor at Štefánikův bridge at the end of Revoluční street in downtown Prague.

A 53-meter-long ship with a seating capacity of 260 people and views of Prague Castle from the upper deck, it will serve both lightweight Czech cuisine and brasserie fare.

Other draws are to include a play area for children and, for adult guests, beds for napping in between brews.

The ship, a model made in 1962 in East Germany, is currently being reconstructed at a shipyard near Děčín.

Seven kinds of draft beer specials will be brewed on board the boat including a heady 34-degree tap, aptly named Titanic, which intends to unseat the X-Beer 33 brewed at Prague restaurant U Medvídků as the strongest produced in the Czech Republic.

The 30-million-crown project is slated to launch on October 28 to coincide with the anniversary of the independent Czechoslovak state; a commemorative brew called Republic is also due to be christened.
