The idea of giving employees unlimited vacation—you’re free to take as much time off as you choose, as long as you get the job done—has been slowly catching on around the world.
Netlifx, Virgin Group, and General Electric offer flexible vacation policies with some HR professionals saying it can actually save employers money in the long run: no more tracking time off or paying out remaining vacation days when an employee decides to leave.
“We have begun to see that salary is not everything, and that we can express our confidence in people otherwise,” the IT specialists said in a press release.
And their decision hasn’t gone unnoticed, possibly signifying an uptick in Czech companies who’d like to implement similar initiatives.
“Since we are pioneers in the Czech Republic, some companies have already contacted us in order to find out about the experience and how to [introduce] it to their leadership,” the company rep added.
