  • Donate it: Charity shops and clothing banks
  • Sell or consign it (thrift stores, consignment)
  • Sell it (or buy it cheaper) online
  • Donate or discover big stuff (furniture, household goods)
  • Donate, sell, or buy secondhand books
  • Swap, giveaway, or borrow it
  • Recycle it (textiles)

I’m somewhat of a closeted thrifter. What started as a way to kill a lazy Saturday (or procrastinate on work deadlines) has quietly turned into a lifestyle. With inflation nudging prices ever higher, hunting for secondhand treasures has become less of a hobby and more of a practical art form.

Over the years, I’ve discovered that the same designer jeans, breezy summer dresses, and quirky home accents that carry eye-watering price tags in boutiques often show up in Prague’s charity shops, consignment stores, and secondhand markets, sometimes for a fraction of the cost.
