This week’s calendar runs from Aug. 10 to 16, with tips for an open day at Czech castles and chateaux, a Prague landmark's birthday party, outdoor wine festivals, and much more.

  • Aug. 17: Practice your Czech at Come and Speak Czech Mondays at Večernice, a free meetup for expats to practice Czech through relaxed conversation.
  • Aug. 17: The Bar Education Symposium at Spojka brings bartending and hospitality professionals together for talks, panels, practical sessions, networking, and an evening afterparty.
  • Aug. 20: Speed Portraying at Kafe a Hrnky offers a playful drawing workshop where participants sketch one another, learn portrait techniques, and leave with a notebook of portraits.
  • Aug. 20: The Famous Women of Prague walking tour takes visitors through Prague’s New and Old Towns, exploring the lives and legacy of famous local residents.
  • Aug. 20: The Prague Book Club at Globe Bookstore and Cafe discusses Chuck Palahniuk’s Survivor, a dark satire about fame, media, and modern society.
  • Aug. 22: Castle and Chateau Night opens historic sites across Prague and Czechia after dark, with special night tours, theater, music, and other cultural programs.

  • Aug. 18: Pinot Noir Day at Prague Botanical Garden’s Fata Morgana greenhouse offers a free mini-tasting of four Pinot Noir wines from St. Clare’s Vineyard.
  • Aug. 20: Bread & Wine at EMA espresso bar in Holešovice pairs local food with sparkling and still wines from Veltlín, accompanied by a DJ set from Koshmarowski.
  • Aug. 21–22: The Wine Festival on Střelecký Island showcases Czech and international wines from small wineries, accompanied by live music, food, and summer activities.

  • Aug. 20: Petřín Lookout Tower celebrates 135 years with period-costumed staff, commemorative tickets, a history quiz, and family activities at the Mirror Maze.
  • Aug. 21: NeverMore 68 at Výstaviště Praha commemorates the 1968 Warsaw Pact invasion with panel discussions, documentary screenings, exhibitions, and more, with free admission.
  • Aug. 22: Royal Day at Vyšehrad marks the 940th anniversary of Vratislaus II’s coronation with medieval processions, combat demonstrations, traditional crafts, and activities for children.

  • Aug. 20: Queer Men Connect at Zen Den Yoga combines physical yoga, a queer heart circle, and guided questions to encourage deeper connections.
  • Aug. 20: The Uninstall Duolingo language exchange night at Tequila Tales offers relaxed multilingual conversation and socializing in an international group.
  • Aug. 22: Prague Rooftop Festival’s party at Cloud 9 Sky Bar & Lounge offers house music, sunset views, drinks, and a rooftop setting overlooking Prague.

  • Aug. 22: Synthpop legends Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) bring their hits and four decades of electronic music to Prague Open Air at Areál7.
  • Aug. 23: Ukrainian DJ and producer Miss Monique brings a sunset set to Křižíkova Fountain at Výstaviště, with an atmospheric outdoor show featuring light and water effects.

  • Aug. 19: The weekly pub quiz at Philly & Co’s Original Cheesesteaks presents general trivia covering topics from music to sport every Tuesday.
  • Aug. 19: Now in its 17th year, The Globe Quiz Night takes place at Globe Bookstore & Café every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 20: The Down Under hosts its weekly pub quiz every Thursday with a relaxed Aussie-themed atmosphere from 7 p.m.
  • Aug. 20: The Under the Sauce Pub Quiz takes place on Wednesdays at Third Coast Pizza in Žižkov from 7 p.m.
