Czechia has long punched above its weight in the design world. From Alfons Mucha’s Art Nouveau posters to Ladislav Sutnar’s pioneering graphic systems, Czech designers have shaped typography, visual identity, and public spaces for over a century. Even everyday objects—from metro signage to flags—bear traces of this ingenuity.
That creativity takes center stage in Brno this month, Nov. 18, as Brno Bold 2025 returns for its fourth edition, bringing together top designers, visual thinkers, and innovators from across Europe for a full day of inspiration, insight, and bold ideas.
Organized by Bloomfield Brand Studio, the conference takes place in the city’s thriving creative district, combining talks, panels, and networking designed to challenge conventions and explore how design shapes meaning, identity, and culture today.
While Brno Bold has grown into a key event for designers across the Czech Republic, this year it expands its reach with international speakers and English-language talks.
“This year, we’re proud to bring a truly international lineup to the city and showcase how Czechia is shaping the global creative landscape.”
“Brno Bold is about more than just talks—it’s about creating a space where ideas cross borders and design professionals can grow together,” said Dalibor Mráz, CERNA.AI.
Global speakers, local connections
The 2025 lineup features international voices, including Jesper Kouthoofd (Founder & CEO, Teenage Engineering, SE), Studio Dumbar/DEPT® (NL), Emmi Salonen (FI), Ondrej Homola (Volvo Cars, SE/SK), Zetafonts (IT), Jakub Ptačin (Studio Echt, SK), and Dalibor Mráz (CERNA.AI, CZ). Topics span branding, UX, typography, creative technology, and visual culture.
Pre-party and networking
The day before, on Nov. 17, Brno Bold hosts an informal pre-party at Boldhalle, a new creative venue in Brno. Dutch digital artist Rik Oostenbroek will open his solo exhibition Kleur, with music, food from Bango Brno, drinks by Industry, and a screen-printing workshop by Screeno.
The evening offers a rare chance for attendees to meet speakers, mingle with peers, and kick off the conference in style.
As today’s generation of Czech designers carries this legacy onto the world stage, blending tradition with cutting-edge technology, events like Brno Bold highlight that innovation, offering an international platform where homegrown creativity meets global ideas and emerging trends.
