This week’s calendar runs from Aug. 3 to 9, with tips for this year's Prague Pride Festival, outdoor summer concerts, a new Harry Potter exhibition, and much more.

LANGUAGE & LEARNING

  • Aug. 3: Practice your Czech at Come and Speak Czech Mondays at Večernice, a free meetup for expats to practice Czech through relaxed conversation.
  • Aug. 6: Prague Book Club at Globe Bookstore and Cafe discusses three short story nominees for the 2026 Nebula Awards.
  • Aug. 7–9: Guinea Pig Exhibition at Toulcův Dvůr celebrates its 25th edition with breed showcases, expert judging, breeder meetups, and family-friendly workshops.
  • Aug. 8: Feminist Stories & Street Art in Prague 5 explores women’s history, social change, and feminist art through a guided English-language walk from Ženské Domovy to Jinonice.
  • Aug. 9: Day of Jewish Monuments opens dozens of synagogues, cemeteries, and Jewish heritage sites across Czechia for free or voluntary donations, including Prague’s Jerusalem Synagogue.

FOR FOODIES

  • Aug. 5: The National Wine Competition will reveal the top 2026 wines from the Bohemian Wine Region in Prague, with visitors invited to taste the top entries.
  • Aug. 9: A Creative Clay Workshop at Saffa Maso Bistro invites participants to design their own handmade clay holders with coffee, wine, and South African-inspired refreshments.

Community

  • Aug. 3–9: The annual Prague Pride Festival returns with nearly 200 events across the city, featuring community gatherings, cultural programs, discussions, and the traditional Pride Parade through the city center on Saturday.

Networking

  • Aug. 6: The Uninstall Duolingo language exchange night at Tequila Tales offers relaxed multilingual conversation and socializing in an international group.
  • Aug. 8: The weekly Saturday networking meetup at Globe Bookstore & Café features drinks, dinner, and socializing for expats and travelers.
  • Aug. 8: Prague Rooftop Festival brings sunset views, music, and drinks to Casablanca Sky Bar with an evening of rooftop entertainment in a smart-casual setting.

ENTERTAINMENT

  • Aug. 3: Florida band Evergreen Terrace returns to Rock Café, bringing melodic hardcore sound and a high-energy live performance to Prague.
  • Aug. 4: St. Vitus Organ Evenings at Prague Castle features Czech organist Pavel Černý as part of the international festival showcasing the cathedral’s new organ.
  • Aug. 5: Dropkick Murphys bring their Celtic punk anthems and high-energy live show to Areál7 in Holešovice as part of the Prague Open Air festival.
  • Aug. 5: Summer Festivities of Early Music closes with Mythologia aeterna at the Church of Sts. Simon and Jude, featuring Andreas Wolf and Collegium Marianum.
  • Aug. 6: Sto zvířat brings its ska sound to Energy Pub in Riegrovy sady, with the Czech band performing longtime favorites and new songs in an open-air summer concert.
  • Aug. 6–8: Povaleč Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary at Valeč Castle with three days of alternative music, theater, films, podcasts, workshops, and more.
  • Aug. 8: The Living Tombstone brings The Multiplayer Tour to SaSaZu, with the US electronic-rock project blending dance music, rock influences, and gaming culture.
  • Aug. 8: American String Quartets at Antonín Dvořák’s birthplace in Nelahozeves features student ensembles from the University of Iowa performing classic and contemporary works.
  • Aug. 9: Morcheeba brings its 30th anniversary tour to SaSaZu, with the British trip-hop pioneers performing songs from their latest album Escape The Chaos.
  • Aug. 9: Purified Prague returns to Křižík Fountain with Nora En Pure’s acclaimed electronic music series, featuring a four-hour set by Swiss-South African artist Lexer.

Art

  • Now open: Pop Machine opens at Kafkoff Gallery in Kafka’s former childhood home, blending pop culture, urban art, and Prague history in a playful summer exhibition.
  • From Aug. 6: Harry Potter: The Exhibition opens at PVA Expo Prague Letňany, inviting fans to explore Hogwarts-inspired sets, movie props, interactive spell-casting and more.

Sports

  • Aug. 6–9: Floorball Czech Open 2026 brings more than 150 teams from around the world to Prague for one of the sport’s biggest international tournaments.
  • Aug. 8: Red Bull 400 at Ještěd in Liberec challenges runners with a 400-meter uphill race on the ski jump hill, featuring individual and relay categories for amateur and professional athletes.
  • Aug. 8: Royal Golf & Polo Cup at Prague City Golf Zbraslav combines international polo finals and a Pro-Am golf tournament.

TRIVIA & GAME NIGHTS

  • Aug. 4: Globe Bookstore hosts its monthly film quiz with questions on classics, cult favorites, and international cinema, plus prizes for top teams and standout individual players.
  • Aug. 5: A special Under the Rainbow Pride Quiz at Third Coast Pizza features LGBTQ+ history, culture, and trivia as part of Prague Pride Week.
  • Aug. 5: Now in its 17th year, The Globe Quiz Night takes place at Globe Bookstore & Café every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m.
  • Aug. 6: The Down Under hosts its weekly pub quiz every Thursday with a relaxed Aussie-themed atmosphere from 7 p.m.
