10 –My Bloody Valentine: The extremely successful Irish alternative rock band perform new and old tracks at a special Archa Theatre performance. A very talented group with a huge back catalogue of hits well worth checking out.

12 – Alicia Keys: The stunning Grammy-award-winning performer comes to Prague as part of her Girl on Fire tour. Keys’ love jones songs are sure to melt even the hardest of hearts.

14-15 – Elekce: The first festival of Czech electronic music takes place at MeetFactory. Check out the impressive list of Czech talent taking part in this first annual event.

14 – KISS: The legendarily flamboyant performers hit O2 Arena for what promises to be an unforgettable show. Rock in its purist brought to you by Starchild and The Demon.

KISS – Heaven’s on Fire:

16 – Van Der Graaf Generator: A welcome return for the British art-rock band who last performed in Prague two years ago. Expect an interesting show from a band that flaunts the darker side of prog-rock.

19 – Eric Clapton: No intro needed. Certain to be a hit-filled show. Everything from the Cream years down to his huge back catalogue of solo hits.

Eric Clapton – Layla:

19 – Bobby McFerrin: The spirited American vocalist is no stranger to the Czech Republic. This time he’ll be joined by Czech Philharmonic musicians for what promises to be an uplifting show.

19 – Portishead: Fans of the elusive Bristolians will know that opportunities to see this trip-hop/downtempo band come around rarely. I can’t recommend this event enough. A fantastic band who have limited their output over the years but increased in quality.

Portishead – Glory Box:

19 – CocoRosie: Anyone fancy a bit of freak-folk? CocoRosie is definitely the band to provide it. The sisterly collaboration has drawn a fan-base spanning the globe. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to catch this experimental duo live.

CocoRosie – Lemonade:

24 – Bon Jovi: Still at it after all these years. The band stop off in Prague as part of their Because we Can tour. These guys have played 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries gathering more than 35 million fans. Don’t pass up the chance to see real rock-n-roll professionals at work!

27 – Die Ärzte: German punk rock comes to Lucerna Music Bar. The popular three piece recently announced that they were  “the best band in world”. Head down to LMB to decide for yourself.

Food & Drink

1-9 – Milkparade 2013: An event showcasing amazing flavors and culinary experiences with milk as the main ingredient. Taking place in several restaurants. Check website for more details.

21-22 – Bernard Fest 2013: Celebrate the 19th year of Bernard Beer & Music festival this month with an exciting two days of the best Czech and Slovak music groups performing at the Humpolec based fest!

Cultural Festivals

8 – Prague Museum Night: The annual opportunity to visit numerous museums at night for free. A great chance to visit the participating venues outside of their normal opening hours in a festive atmosphere. NOTE: Prague Museum Night has been postponed due to the floods. New date TBA.

15-16 – Respect Festival 2013: The free world music festival at one of Prague’s Islands. NOTE: due to the floods, the Respect festival has moved from Štvanice Island to Ladronka Park.

20-22 – United Islands: Multi-genre festival taking place in Prague. Great music and activities spanning two days. NOTE: after flooding throughout Kampa, Petřín and Kinský Garden, organizers are currently looking at alternative venues. More info to come.
