Runners from across Czech Republic will have a unique opportunity this summer: run a race on an airport runway.

The new series of races launched by RunCzech will take runners to airports like Runway Run Karlovy Vary and Runway Run České Budějovice.

On Saturday, June 27, the first race will take place in Karlovy Vary at 9 p.m. with the sunset 5K. The following day, participate in a breakfast run at 8:30 a.m.

Following the breakfast run, families and children can spend some time on the runway with a Bambini Run at 9:45 a.m. and a Family Run 3K at 10:30 a.m. The runs are not competitive, and all participants will get a present at the end.

On Friday, July 10, head to České Budějovice for the next installment of the running series. The program will be similar to the Karlovy Vary. The sunset run 5K starts at 9 p.m., and the next day, the program continues with the Breakfast Run, Bambini Run and Family Run.

In addition to the races, RunCzech will organize additional events for participants in accordance with local regulations.

The races in Karlovy Vary and České Budějovice are the first of several throughout the summer. Races in Prague will take place on July 18 to 19 and August 1 in Pilsen.

Registration is now open for the runway races. If you’re interested in participating, click here.
