The new Czech documentary Kapralova tells the story of Vítězslava Kaprálová, a Czech composer and conductor who left for the prestigious Paris Conservatory in the 1930s to pursue a career in the male-dominated world of classical music, and tragically died at the age of 25.

📺 The Streaming Watchlist
Half Car, Half Boat, Full Trouble (Žlutou žábou do země modrého nebe) is the latest entry in Dan Přibáň’s long-running documentary series following Czech and Slovak adventurers on outrageous journeys across the world in Soviet-era vehicles.
This time, Přibáň pilots the amphibious LuAZ 967, nicknamed the “yellow frog,” navigating both roads and rivers on a wild 18,000-kilometer trek from Prague to Ulaanbaatar. Half Car, Half Boat, Full Trouble is now streaming with English subtitles on Netflix in the Czech Republic.
- How To Get To Heaven From Belfast, a new Irish comedy-mystery series from Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee, is now streaming in full on Netflix.
- Love Story, a new Ryan Murphy series about the romance between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, has premiered its first three episodes on Disney+.
- The second season of detective thriller Cross has premiered its first three episodes on Prime Video, with new installments dropping on Wednesdays.
- The second and final season of romance Like Water For Chocolate premieres on HBO Max tonight, with new episodes releasing Sundays.
🎞️ The Throwback
The 2023 Czech drama Her Body tells the real-life story of Andrea Absolonová, a gifted Czech athlete whose sports career ended after a spinal injury, leading her to the adult film industry. Set in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the film chronicles her rise to fame as one of the country’s biggest porn stars under the pseudonym Lea De Mae.
Her Body screens with English subtitles on Feb. 19 at Kino Aero as part of the Some Like It Czech series, along with a Q&A featuring director Natálie Císařovská and Czech adult actress Tarra White. The film is also streaming with English subtitles on Netflix in Czechia.
