Once hidden in the shadows of the underground, tattooing has become increasingly more fashionable in recent decades with a plethora of styles ranging from tribal to comical and from realism to the abstract.

Tattoo artists from central and eastern Europe with classical training are bringing an element of fine art into an industry that was once less refined.

With the growing popularity of tattoos, artists and shop owners are able to expand their businesses, but some feel that the craft has lost some of the uniqueness that the culture once enjoyed.

The Tattoo Convention circuit made its annual stop in Prague recently and video producers from PragueCamera.cz were on location at Výstaviště to capture the vibrant atmosphere and to interview some of the major players on the European scene.
