The top-ranked men’s tennis stars will meet in Prague next September for the inaugural Laver Cup, a unique tournament that will match a team of European players against one comprised of the best talent from around the rest of the world.

The Laver Cup, named after Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, will match a six-man team of Europe’s top stars against the six best challengers from across the rest of the world in a three-day indoor tournament that includes both singles and doubles action.

The two teams will consist of Europe’s top four players (today, that would be Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, and Roger Federer) matched against the top-ranked talent across all other continents (Milos Raonic, Kei Nishikori, Nick Kyrgios, and Bernard Tomic at the moment), with the final two players on each team chosen by a captain.

Who are those team captains? None other than legendary rivals Bjorn Borg, heading the European team, and John McEnroe, leading the international stars.

A movie about that rivalry, Borg vs. McEnroe, just happens to be filming in Prague with Shia LaBeouf starring as the US star.

The Laver Cup will hit Prague’s O2 Arena from September 22-24, 2017.

More information can be found at the official Laver Cup website and Facebook page.
