The Prague Metro contains three color-coded lines that run convergent routes through the city: Line A (Green) runs from Dejvická to Depo Hostivař, Line B (Yellow) runs from Zličín to Černý Most, and Line C (Red) runs from Letňany to Háje.

The metro runs daily from 04:30 until midnight, with intervals of 2-3 minutes between trains at peak hours, and 8-10 minutes at off-peak hours.

Tickets can be purchased at coin-operated machines located in each station, at most newsstands, or by SMS. To purchase a ticket by SMS, a Czech number with premium SMS services activated must be used. Simply send a text to the number 902 06 with the message ‘DPT24’ (for a short-term ticket) or ‘DPT32’ (for a long-term ticket).

Single tickets must be stamped at yellow ticket validators located at the entrance to each metro station or within trams and buses. The fine for riding without a valid (stamped) ticket or transport pass is 950 CZK.

Short-term tickets (24 CZK) are valid for 30 minutes and long-term tickets (32 CZK) are valid for 90-minutes across Prague public transport (including trams and buses within the city limits). Metro passes for multiple days, months, or a year can also be purchased through the DPP website or offices located in some stations. Click here for fare information.
