Firefighters have brought the fire in Czech Switzerland under control, despite the fact that hidden pockets of the national park continue to burn. This week brought positive headlines as well. Scientists observed a new record depth for the Hranice Abyss while a trio of rare baby woodpeckers debuted at a Czech zoo.
