In honor of pride month, this past June, recruitment agency Silver Swan has put together a ranking of the best countries around the world for LGBT workers.
The LGBT Worldwide Workplace Index reviewed several key factors including workplace discrimination laws, employee rights, minimum wage, and the inclusion of the LGBT community in every country around the world to reach its list of top 30 countries for LGBT employees to work.
How did the Czech Republic fare? It came in just shy of the top 10 at no. 11, with an overall score of 14, doing well in the categories of LGBT Laws and Rights and LGBT employment laws, although in the areas of general minimum wage and average salary, the country has room for improvement.
Topping the list as the best country for LGBT workers is Luxembourg which took the number one spot thanks to its anti-discrimination laws, high minimum wage, low unemployment rate and its recognition as one of the most LGBT-friendly countries according to the 2018 Gay Travel Index (Prague scores at the bottom of that index coming in at 34/40 countries).
Other countries ranking highly on the index include Australia, New Zealand, Monaco, and France. The UK also managed to place in the top 10, ranking at number 10.
