Prague, March 23 (CTK) – The number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose by 71 since this morning, having reached 1,236, the Czech Health Ministry has said.

One person has died from COVID-19, while six have been cured of the disease. Tests have been carried out on 17,377 people.

Most of the infected are in Prague.

On Sunday night, a man, 95, was the first to have died from the COVID-19 illness. Total exhaustion of organism was the cause of his death.

A week ago, the Czech Republic was the fourth European country after Italy, Spain and Austria to have limited the free movement of people due to the coronavirus spread.

A few days later, the ban on going out without mouth and nose cover followed. On Wednesday, the government approved the duty to wear a face mask, respirator, shawl or scarf.

The government prolonged limitation of the free movement of people across the Czech Republic until April 1.

All other restrictive measures were prolonged until this day by the government today, too.
