Ever wondered what Earth looks like from 400 kilometers above or what it feels like to play guitar in zero gravity? Canadian astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield can lay claim to both. In 2013, the legendary space explorer lived out the lyrics of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity,” filming himself singing the iconic ballad while playing guitar from the International Space Station.

The video went so viral that Bowie himself sent his compliments to the former commander. Hadfield continues to hold the record for the first music video filmed entirely in space, but there’s more to his story than his sensational, interstellar concert.

This December, Hadfield is coming to the Czech Republic for the first time with his celebrated live show, “A Journey into the Cosmos.” Join him as he takes audiences on an unforgettable trip through the universe, without ever leaving Earth.

From orbit to Earth: The astronaut who made space feel human

Hadfield’s journey from fighter pilot to astronaut has made him one of the most celebrated figures in modern space history, following in the footsteps of Neil Armstrong. He became the first Canadian to walk in space, commanded the International Space Station during Expedition 35, logged 166 days in orbit, and was a recipient of the Order of Canada and NASA’s Exceptional Service Medal.

Back on Earth, he’s an artist, author, visionary, and musician. His viral “Space Oddity” video, viewed by millions, turned him into a global ambassador for science and curiosity.

Known for his humor and humility, he inspires audiences around the world to see science, discovery, and creativity in a new light. During his tour dates in Czechia, Hadfield will share behind-the-scenes moments from his time aboard the ISS, insights into the challenges of spaceflight, and reflections on the future of human exploration.

The out-of-this-world experience combines extraordinary visuals, exclusive video footage from Hadfield’s missions, and the astronaut’s own stories from life in orbit, accompanied by live music and the chance to hear his version of “Space Oddity” in person.

A night of stories, music, and images from space

Hadfield will be joined by special guests in Czechia, including Czech astronaut Aleš Svoboda and the Zero G Cadets from the Czech Path to Space program, highlighting Czechia’s growing role in international space research and exploration.

The evening promises spectacular visuals, personal storytelling, interactive Q&A sessions, and live music—all conducted entirely in English.

An unmissable moment for space fans

For Hadfield, space has never just been about science but about perspective. His visit to Czechia offers audiences that same sense of wonder: a reminder that curiosity, courage, and creativity can lift us far beyond where we stand.

Supported by Brno Observatory and Planetarium, ESERO Czech Republic, Czech Path to Space, Kosmonautix, Kosmické novinky, and Vědátor, the event marks a milestone moment for Czech space enthusiasts.

Event dates:

  • Dec. 1, 2025 – Prague Congress Centre
  • Dec. 2, 2025 – Brno Bobycentrum

The events are organized by Crown Comedy Club, which has hosted international stars such as Brian Cox, Jimmy Carr, and Bill Burr. The show’s producer and lead promoter is Dominik Oždian, better known to Czech audiences as comedian Dominik Heřman Lev.
