You’ve barely finished labeling this year’s school supplies, and next year’s school plans already need your attention. Fortunately, the first step can be a visit rather than another application form. Schools across Prague and elsewhere in Czechia are inviting families to meet teachers, explore classrooms and see how their children respond to a different learning environment.
For families applying through the Czech education system, primary-school enrollment takes place Jan. 15–Feb. 15, 2027, while kindergarten enrollment runs March 15–April 15. Each school sets its specific dates within those windows. Applications to gymnasiums and other secondary schools are submitted Feb. 1–22, with applicants ranking their choices in order of preference. Applications can be submitted electronically through DiPSy or on paper.
Some private and international schools offer rolling admissions, subject to available places. There’s time to look around, but a few enrollment dates are worth knowing now. Scroll through our roundup to learn more.
