At Light in the Dark we support individual clients but also teams to learn the Art of Storytelling. This can be done in from of team buildings but also as a full day training course. Our enaging training consists of the following 4 modules:
Module 1: The Culture and History of Storytelling
This foundational module sets the stage for all upcoming content. It provides an insightful introduction to the rich history of storytelling and highlights the critical role of adapting narratives to resonate with diverse cultures. You’ll explore the distinctions between personal narratives and the oral tradition of passing down folk tales and fables. Additionally, we will delve into common story structures and examine timeless "master plots" that shape storytelling across cultures.
Module 2: The Neuroscience of Storytelling
In this module, you'll discover what happens in the brain when we tell and listen to stories. Whether you're using storytelling for entertainment, marketing, or to enhance your persuasive abilities, understanding these neurological processes will give you a significant edge. By the end, you'll have the tools to evoke emotions, build trust, and deeply engage your audience through your stories.
Module 3: The Power of Metaphors
Here, you’ll learn how to use metaphorical stories to bypass logical resistance and reach deeper levels of influence. We’ll explore the psychology behind why metaphors are so effective, especially in disrupting entrenched behavior patterns. Additionally, you'll learn to recognize and avoid dead metaphors—those that have lost their impact—to keep your storytelling fresh and powerful.
Module 4: Crafting Compelling Stories
In the final module, you’ll bring together all the elements of effective storytelling to create your own original narratives. You’ll learn how to build characters, infuse your stories with meaning and emotion, and shape them for maximum impact. We’ll also focus on identifying different narrative voices to ensure your message is delivered with clarity and authenticity. The module concludes with a story pitch, preparing you to seamlessly integrate storytelling into your everyday communication.
The training is done either online or in our beautiful training room at Harrachovsky palace in the center of Prague.
A certificate of completion will be provided.
