The English International School is a co-educational day school for pupils aged 2 to 18 years, well-known for its excellent academic results and pastoral care. The school has been successfully serving both the expatriate and Czech communities for 17 years, with pupils of over 40 nationalities.
What do we offer to young pupils?
PRIMARY SCHOOL (age 5 – 11)
The education is based upon the National Curriculum of England. We adapt the curriculum to make sure it is suitable for our diverse group of students.
As our students go through the school, we keep a careful eye on their progress through continuous assessment and review. There is a close relationship between students, teachers and parents. Apart from everyday learning and teaching, we also track learner progress on our school database, and can help if we feel a child should be achieving more. Parents can access information about their child/ren at any time.
There is a broad range of sports, clubs, trips and activities available on top of the academic programme. Private music tuition is also available.
We offer excellent provision of EAL (English as Additional Language), including three levels of support to address the needs of individual English learners. We also cater for SEN (Special Educational Needs).

What do we offer to senior pupils?
SENIOR SCHOOL (age 12-18)
The education of students is based on the National Curriculum of England, followed by the Cambridge IGCSE programme. In the last two years (ages 16-18) students complete the INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (IB).
As students go through the senior school, we guide them step by step towards responsibility for and ownership of their education. Students can take part in WORK EXPERIENCE & INTERNSHIPS (in business studies lessons), workshops with external speakers, local and international trips, and excursions that allow them to see the real world they are getting ready for. Students have access to the latest technologies. There is also a wide range of clubs and extra-curricular activities available.
For our IB students, higher education is just round the corner and we give significant support and time to prepare them, not only academically, for their next step. Our CAREERS ADVISOR is available to support students in this process, as well as form tutors and the leadership team including the Principal, as needed. Currently our ALUMNI study at universities in the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, South Korea, and the USA.
Among the most recent successes of our students are two autumn 2012 offers from CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY, voted the number one university in the world by The Times!
