In striking sequences shot from a carefully-piloted drone, a gamer in the Czech Republic has meticulously re-crafted scenes from the classic video game Grand Theft Auto 2.

In the video directed and shot by Vojta Paul, a quadcopter flying above the streets captures top-down action inspired by the Rockstar’s 1999 action-adventure game.

Highly impressive on a technical level, the video is remarkably stable and accurately captures the GTA 2 look and feel. A large cast of extras acts out the GTA-inspired scenes accompanied by sound and video effects from the game.

The short has gone viral since being posted on May 2, garnering 700,000 views in three days.

Paul shot the video on the streets of Valašské Meziříčí, a town in the Czech Republic’s Zlín Region.
