Residents of Holešovice and its surrounding area, as well as people traveling through the Prague 7 region, should take heed of large-scale tram disruptions that will occur from the beginning of Wednesday, April 17, until the end of Sunday, April 28.
Due to tram line repairs, tram traffic will be temporarily suspended or diverted between the Hradčanská and Strossmayerovo náměstí stops. The maintenance work affects lines 1, 8, 12, 25, 26, 91, and 96 and historic line 41.
The Prague Public Transport Company (DPP) will introduce replacement bus service X1 (and X91 by night) on parts of the route. At peak times, the X1 route will run once every three to four minutes, and its night variant will run about once every 15 minutes.
Here is an overview of the changes by tram line:
Line 1 will be diverted between Hradčanská and Strossmayerovo náměstí via the Chotkovy sady, Malostranská, and Čechův most stops.
Line 8 will be divided into two parts, with one being diverted from Hradčanská to the Špejchar tram loop in the direction of Nádraží Podbaba. In the direction of Staré Hloubětín, line 8 will be shortened to stop at Strossmayerovo náměstí, then it will continue on the same route as number 25 in the direction of Lehovec.
Line 12 will be diverted to the Čechův most stop in the Malostranská – Strossmayerovo náměstí section.
Line 25 will be divided into two parts. In the direction of Bílá Hora, services will be diverted from the Hradčanská stop to the Špejchar loop. Trams going to Lehovec will continue on their usual route until the Strossmayerovo náměstí stop, then will follow the same route as line 8 in the direction of Starý Hloubětín.
Lines 26, 91, and 96 are diverted via the Chotkovy sady, Malostranská, and Čechův most stops.
Historic line 41 will be diverted via the Malostranská and Čechův most stops.
The replacement bus service X1 will run through Letenské náměstí, the Sparta tram stop opposite the football stadium, the Kamenická tram stop, and Hradčanská. The nightly X91 bus will also stop off at Dlouhá třída and nábřeží Kapitána Jaroše.
