Czech Singer and Anděl-award winner Thom Artway joined the Silent Forest: Asian Songbird Crisis campaign to protect vulnerable songbirds in Southeast Asia.

In support of this conservation effort, he has composed the song “High Above The Trees,” which is now available as a video clip.

Artway will play the song live for the first time on Thursday, October 5, at his Palac Akropolis concert.

The Silent Forest campaign, launched on October 1, 2017, is a project of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

The Czech Republic was selected and commissioned to chair this new pan-European initiative.

The aim is to raise awareness of the current crisis where some singing birds have been the subject of very profitable trade, resulting in an uncontrolled loss of bird species.

Artway wrote the song to support the vision of the campaign, which led to a video clip directed by Jakub Švejkar.

“As a singer, I respect every singer, so I joined the Silent Forest campaign, which is being hosted by the Liberec Zoo in the Czech Republic. I believe that this project will help keep birds singing from forests for good. Great thanks to Jakub Švejkar, who made a beautiful video for the song and to all who contributed to his work,” says Artway.

Tickets are still on-sale for tonight’s concert. See here for more details.
