- April 9: Last Routine, a new Czech-Slovak biopic about figure skater Ondrej Nepela, plays with English subtitles at Edison Filmhub (also at Kino Atlas April 10-11).
- April 9: Czech-Danish Oscar winner Mr Nobody Against Putin plays with English subtitles at Kino Atlas (also on April 10 and April 12).
- April 10: Classic and still-controversial Czech silent drama Eroticon plays with English subtitles at Kino Atlas.
🇨🇿 Czech Cinema Spotlight
The new Czech sports comedy Dream Team follows Martin Hofmann as a father who, in an attempt to support his son’s ambition to compete at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, agrees to assemble a basketball team made up of able-bodied players posing as athletes with intellectual disabilities.
The story draws loose inspiration from the real-life eligibility scandal at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics. After premiering in cinemas earlier this year, Dream Team is now streaming with English subtitles on Netflix.

- The second season of the well-received Korean boxing revenge saga Bloodhounds is now streaming in full on Netflix.
- Stranger Things' Gaten Matarazzo stars in the drug comedy Pizza Movie, now streaming on Disney+ in Czechia.
- The Oakland-set anthology Freaky Tales, starring Pedro Pascal, skipped theatrical release in Czechia, but it's now streaming on SkyShowtime.
- The second season of XO, Kitty, a spinoff of Jenny Han's To All the Boys I've Loved Before, is now streaming in full on Netflix.
🎞️ The Throwback
Just in time for Easter, a newly restored 4K version of Monty Python’s Life of Brian returns to Czech cinemas courtesy of distributor Pannonia Entertainment, bringing the iconic British comedy back to the big screen for a limited run. The classic 1979 comedy is a sharp satire of religious fanaticism, political division, and mass hysteria that remains strikingly relevant decades after its release.
A landmark of British comedy, Life of Brian is widely regarded as one of the comedy troupe's finest works and features all six members in multiple roles, with Graham Chapman as the titular non-savior. The film screens at Edison Filmhub on Easter Monday, at Kino Atlas on April 7, and additional cinemas at later dates.
